Winter walk
It had been a long cold winter, but today was warm. The sun was shining bright after being long gone. The wind seemed to finally take a break after many days of storm- it was the day to wind down.
So, I decided to take a walk through the nearby woods, on this beautiful day.
The air was cold, I liked it when it touched my face. The scent of the wet ground, the chirping of the birds, the colourful flowers, the shivering leaves, everything enchanted me.
The long winter had left this place virgin from any mortal being except for its wild inhabitants.
It was not long before I reached my favourite place, in the middle of the forest on a small hill which had a beautiful view of the city.
I leaned against a tree and enjoyed the peace and tranquility that radiated this forest. One could hear nothing but the chirping of a few birds and distant rustling of the rabbit.
I closed my eyes to be consumed by this beautiful corner of unspoiled nature.
After a while I opened my eyes, there was a couple, standing against the tree opposite to me. Both seemed familiar. Both had their eyes filled with tears.
"No!" Cried the boy, "You can't go."
"I'm sorry Prashay. I have to. My father got a transfer. I can't leave my parents alone." explained the girl.
" But what about me Pia? What about me? You can leave me?"
"No i can't. I will come back for you. We will meet again . This will be in the spring - the sun will shine and the flowers will bloom. You'll stand there and I'll be here, again together. But you shall not find me, I will find you." Said the girl with sad eyes.
"No, you lied to me. You promised me that you would never leave me. I hate you. I will never forgive you." With these hurting words he left.
The girl left after a while with tears in her eyes.
The scene faded slowly in front of my eyes and I realised, I had sat there for quite long. It was time for me to head back home.
I stood and turned around. As i was leaving a hand touched my shoulder.
"Prashay!" Called a familiar voice.
It was her. She was back.
